West Bengal Election Commission Adds 1,468 Voters to Electoral Roll Ahead of Second Phase Polling

The second phase of polling in West Bengal is scheduled for Wednesday (April 29). Earlier, the list of voters whose names were cut off in the SIR came out, but they appealed to the tribunal. For the second phase, the tribunal has added 1468 such voters. According to the data released by the commission, a total of 1474 applications were reviewed, out of which 1468 voters were added to the voter list while 6 voters were deleted. For the second phase, voting is to be held in 142 assembly seats in 7 districts, including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's seat Bhabanipur. In Bengal, the issue of the SIR was hotly debated even before the election process began. The process is still going on. The first phase of polling was held on April 23, and 139 voters were included by the tribunal after review.
