West Bengal Exit Polls Set to Be Released Today, Credibility of Survey Agencies on the Line

West Bengal Exit Poll: Polling for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections is set to conclude today. All media platforms will be able to release exit poll results after 6.30 pm today, as per Election Commission guidelines. Counting of votes will take place on May 4, but exit poll projections will be released before that this evening. Apart from Bengal, the results of the survey for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will also be announced by various survey agencies. Looking at the election environment, exit polls may prove to be very interesting this year. Most survey agencies'projections were proved wrong in the last election. For this reason, their credibility is also at stake in this election. As per Election Commission guidelines, all media platforms will be able to release exit poll results after 6.30 pm today. The Commission has given a clear warning that violation of this rule can lead to jail terms of up to two years, fines or both.
