West Bengal Government Announces Crackdown on Illegal Immigrants

The new BJP government in West Bengal has announced strict action against illegal immigrants. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, who held a press conference in Nabanna on Wednesday, said that people outside the purview of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be identified, arrested and handed over directly to the Border Security Force (BSF). The chief minister claimed that the central government had sent guidelines in this regard last year, but the previous government did not implement it.
