Kolkata: The BJP government in West Bengal led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has issued an order to reopen cases related to post-'Assembly Election-2021'violence in West Bengal. A senior government official said on Wednesday that instructions have also been given to take strict action against cattle smuggling. The order issued by the state government states that there are serious complaints regarding the investigation of post-election violence. Appropriate legal action should be taken by reviewing old cases of political violence that took place in Assembly Election 2021. The order further states that Final Reports (FRTs) submitted in cases related to post-election violence of 2021 should be carefully reviewed and action taken where necessary. If there is any negligence in the investigation, the cases should be reopened and a thorough investigation should be done. Directives for SPs and CPs have also been given to register new cases where specific cases have not been registered.
