West Bengal Politics: TMC-Congress Merger Speculation Sparks Debate

Speculation is rife in West Bengal politics about a possible merger of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Congress. On the one hand, West Bengal Congress president Subhankar Sarkar has said that politics is the art of the possible and anything can happen in the future, while expelled TMC leader and Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Ritabrata Banerjee has completely ruled out any such merger. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has also said that he is not aware of any possible merger.
