The people of West Bengal created history in the first phase of voting for the assembly elections. The voting held yesterday i.e. 23rd April saw tremendous enthusiasm among the people of the state. Despite violence in many areas, the state recorded 92.9% voting. This is the highest voting percentage in the state since independence. This is the first election in Bengal after the Special Revision Campaign (SIR) launched by the Election Commission. Under this campaign, a total of 11.63 percent of people's names were deleted in the state. Despite this action, the bumper voting showed that the people of Bengal have high enthusiasm and are participating in this festival of democracy. According to the Election Commission's data, the seats where the highest number of votes were cast saw a bumper voting. This includes Murshidabad's Samserganj seat, where the highest number of people were deleted under the SIR. The names of 91,712 voters were removed from the list.
