West Bengal: Trinamool Congress Leaders Face Arrests and Backlash Amid Corruption Allegations

Legal action against Trinamool Congress leaders on charges of corruption continues unabated after the change of power in Bengal. In this episode, some leaders are being arrested while others are facing public backlash. In the Amta area of Howrah district, police arrested Trinamool activist Brahmananda Chakraborty, accused in a 2021 post-poll violence case. According to police, to evade arrest, he was hiding under a pile of saris in a house where he was caught during a raid. BJP leaders claim that complaints of post-poll violence against him were long pending. Earlier, a Trinamool leader was also arrested in Cooch Behar's Mathabhanga while hiding under a bed.
