West Bengal Votes Amid Tight Security Measures in Second Phase Assembly Elections

West Bengal is voting in 142 assembly seats for the second phase amid tight security. The Election Commission has deployed 2,321 companies of central forces in 8 districts for smooth polling and has also deployed several observers. However, the Trinamool Congress is very angry about the tight security. Party leader Abhishek Banerjee quipped that only Rafale jets were left in Bengal now. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee said, "Only Rafale was left to be deployed in Bengal. INS warship is also left to be deployed. The Election Commission has deployed such a heavy force for the elections." He added, "The deployment that should have been done against Pakistan and Bangladesh is being done for the people of Bengal." Targeting the Chief Election Commissioner, Abhishek said, "Gyanesh Kumar, you have to take off. We will win the election here with a huge majority.
