Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was sent a fresh notice by the state investigating agency to appear before the CID by Monday afternoon after he failed to appear at the CID office on June 1. However, he left Kolkata for New Delhi on Saturday afternoon so that he could attend a meeting of the opposition'India'coalition on Monday. TMC general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee has sent his reply to the West Bengal Police's CID notice. He has sought more time to appear at the CID office in south Kolkata for questioning in the forgery case. The case was registered after some Trinamool MLAs complained that government documents submitted to the West Bengal Assembly were forged. Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was sent a fresh notice by the state investigating agency to appear before the CID by Monday afternoon. Mamata Banerjee is also currently in Delhi for this meeting. State police sources said on Saturday afternoon that although Abhishek Banerjee had left the office at the time of formal questioning, he would not turn up for questioning on Monday.
