Western UP Sees Rise in Political Temperature Ahead of 2027 Assembly Elections

MEERUT: The clamour for the 2027 assembly elections is now palpable in western UP. The weather may be changing, but the political temperature has risen sharply. It seems to have started with Narendra Modi's February 22 public meeting in Meerut, where the launch of the Namo Bharat train and the metro has given a new direction to the election atmosphere. After this, all parties have started to speed up rallies and meetings. According to political experts, this is a sign of further political activity in the coming time. After the BJP's mega project in western UP, Jewar Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a big public meeting there on March 28. The inauguration of the Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj is also being seen as a major political event. The BJP is trying to spread the message of development through these projects.
