Woman Allegedly Stabs Boyfriend to Death Over Mobile Phone Blocking

A young woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death during a heated argument after he reportedly blocked her on his mobile phone in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur, NDTV reported. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, February 2. According to the police, Kamta Prasad Suryavanshi, 25, had been living in a rented house. He worked at a local hotel. Six months back, he met Roshni Suryavanshi on Instagram and started a relationship with her. Boyfriend Distances Self, Suspicion emerges Over the past two-three days, Kamta distanced himself from Roshni and blocked her number and messages, leading to tensions between the two. Enraged and suspecting that her boyfriend was involved in an affair, she went to his house, carrying a knife. As soon as Kamta opened the door, she asked him to show her his mobile phone. When he refused, a heated argument broke out between the two. Roshni then allegedly stabbed Kamta directly in the chest, said the police, as quoted by NDTV. Kamta’s roommate heard the commotion and came out to check on his friend, only to find him lying on the ground, bleeding through his chest. After this, Kamta was rushed to a hospital, but he succumbed to the injuries on the way. Meanwhile, Police Officer Summat Sahu said that the woman has been apprehended and an investigation has been initiated, as per the NDTV report. The police sources also revealed that Kamta was the nephew of BJP leader and district panchayat president Rajesh Suryavanshi. During the preliminary probe, the woman reportedly told the police that she had carried the knife only to scare him. However, an investigation is still underway into the sequence of events that led up to the crime. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Further probe is underway.
