Zhu Rongji, Former Chinese Premier Who Led Country's Economic Boom, Dies at 98

Former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji has died at the age of 98. Zhu Rongji was the one who got China into the WTO and also helped China's economic boom. According to Chinese state media, Zhu Rongji made big and difficult changes in government industries in the 1990s and got China into the World Trade Organization. This helped China start a tremendous economic boom. The Chinese state news agency Xinhua said that Zhu Rongji died of illness in Beijing at about 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Zhu Rongji breathed his last at the age of 98. Zhu Rongji was the one who was once forced to do manual labor in rural areas for praising reforms in other communist countries in 1979, but later as the Prime Minister of China from 1998 to 2003, he made many big and important changes. Deng Xiaoping is credited with increasing China's membership in the World Trade Organization.
